Ashland is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Cherry Hill, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 8,302.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Ashland had a total area of 2.919 square miles (7.561 km2), including 2.914 square miles (7.547 km2) of land and 0.005 square miles (0.014 km2) of water (0.19%).
The 2010 United States Census counted 8,302 people, 3,084 households, and 2,224 families in the CDP. The population density was 2,849.1 inhabitants per square mile (1,100.0/km2). There were 3,215 housing units at an average density of 1,103.3 per square mile (426.0/km2). The racial makeup was 80.28% (6,665) White, 7.03% (584) Black or African American, 0.11% (9) Native American, 9.06% (752) Asian, 0.00% (0) Pacific Islander, 1.26% (105) from other races, and 2.25% (187) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.78% (480) of the population.
Of the 3,084 households, 30.8% had children under the age of 18; 58.4% were married couples living together; 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present and 27.9% were non-families. Of all households, 23.8% were made up of individuals and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.13.
