South Roxana is a village in Madison County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,053 at the 2010 census.
South Roxana is located at 38°49′35″N 90°3′32″W (38.826497, -90.058882).
According to the 2010 census, South Roxana has a total area of 1.591 square miles (4.12 km2), of which 1.52 square miles (3.94 km2) (or 95.54%) is land and 0.071 square miles (0.18 km2) (or 4.46%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,888 people, 707 households, and 518 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,190.0 people per square mile (458.5/km²). There were 809 housing units at an average density of 509.9 per square mile (196.5/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.67% White, 0.32% African American, 0.42% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.11% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 0.95% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.85% of the population.
There were 707 households out of which 38.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.2% were married couples living together, 15.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% were non-families. 20.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.08.
