The racial makeup of the city was 53.5% White, 32.7% African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.6% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 8.9% from other races, and 3.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 15.6% of the population.
