Lakemoor is a village in Lake and McHenry counties in the U.S. state of Illinois. The population was 6,017 at the 2010 census, up from 2,788 in 2000.
Lakemoor is located at 42°20′25″N 88°12′11″W (42.3401437, -88.2031240).
According to the 2010 census, Lakemoor has a total area of 5.253 square miles (13.61 km2), of which 5.01 square miles (12.98 km2) (or 95.37%) is land and 0.243 square miles (0.63 km2) (or 4.63%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 2,788 people, 1,014 households, and 717 families residing in the village. The population density was 651.4 people per square mile (251.5/km²). There were 1,161 housing units at an average density of 271.3 per square mile (104.7/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 92.72% White, 0.65% African American, 0.14% Native American, 1.83% Asian, 0.18% Pacific Islander, 2.87% from other races, and 1.61% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.03% of the population.
