Orange Grove is a city in Jim Wells County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,318 at the 2010 census.
Orange Grove is located in northeastern Jim Wells County at 27°57′22″N 97°56′21″W (27.956224, -97.939077). Texas State Highway 359 passes through the city, leading northeast 12 miles (19 km) to Mathis and southwest 18 miles (29 km) to Alice, the Jim Wells county seat.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Orange Grove has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,288 people, 473 households, and 339 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,192.6 people per square mile (460.5/km2). There were 515 housing units at an average density of 476.9 per square mile (184.1/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 90.37% White, 0.31% African American, 0.47% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 8.07% from other races, and 0.62% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 50.31% of the population.
There were 473 households, out of which 40.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.0% were married couples living together, 13.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% were non-families. 27.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
