Stonington is a village in Christian County, Illinois, United States. The population was 932 at the 2010 census.
On December 1, 2018, an EF2 tornado struck the western part of the village; there were no injuries or deaths.

According to the 2010 census, Stonington has a total area of 0.46 square miles (1.19 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 960 people, 391 households, and 283 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,114.3 people per square mile (823.7/km2). There were 419 housing units at an average density of 922.8 per square mile (359.5/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 99.69% White, and 0.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.73% of the population.
There were 391 households out of which 32.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% were married couples living together, 8.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.4% were non-families. 24.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 2.90.
