Tuscarora is a census-designated place (CDP) in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 980 at the 2010 census.
Tuscarora is located at 40°45′43″N 76°2′56″W (40.761918, -76.048965). One branch of the headwaters to the Schuylkill River is in Tuscarora. The East Branch of the Schuylkill River runs southwest from the Tuscarora area until it confluences with the West Branch near Pottsville and continues to flow south where it eventually joins the Delaware River as one of its largest tributaries.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.6 square miles (9.3 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 939 people, 428 households, and 290 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 261.6 people per square mile (101.0/km2). There were 488 housing units at an average density of 136.0/sq mi (52.5/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 99.47% White, 0.11% African American, 0.21% Native American, and 0.21% from two or more races.
There were 428 households, out of which 17.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.9% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.2% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 19.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
