Lacombe is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 8,679 at the 2010 census.
Lacombe is located at 30°18′54″N 89°55′53″W (30.314863, -89.931462).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 27.5 square miles (71.2 km2), of which 26.4 square miles (68.5 km2) is land and 1.0 square mile (2.7 km2), or 3.86%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 7,518 people, 2,757 households, and 2,059 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 281.4 people per square mile (108.6/km2). There were 3,119 housing units at an average density of 116.7 per square mile (45.1/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 69.15% White, 25.31% African American, 1.60% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 1.36% from other races, and 2.21% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.58% of the population.
There were 2,757 households, out of which 33.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.0% were married couples living together, 13.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.3% were non-families. 20.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.69 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 25.8% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 27.3% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 years of age or older.
