Mound is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 9,052 at the 2010 census. Mound is the birthplace of the Tonka truck, named after Lake Minnetonka. The Tonka Toys headquarters was originally in Mound, but moved to facilitate material deliveries. Mound is about twenty miles (32 km) west of downtown Minneapolis, the county seat.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.96 square miles (12.85 km2), of which 2.86 square miles (7.41 km2) is land and 2.10 square miles (5.44 km2) is water. County Roads 15 and 110 are two of the main routes.
