San Jose (listen) is a village in Logan County and Mason counties, Illinois, United States, founded in 1858. The population was 642 at the 2010 census.
San Jose was platted in 1858. The village was incorporated in 1876.
San Jose is located at 40°18′14″N 89°36′17″W (40.303962, -89.604788).
According to the 2010 census, San Jose has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.29 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 696 people, 261 households, and 199 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,361.3 people per square mile (526.9/km²). There were 274 housing units at an average density of 535.9 per square mile (207.4/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 99.28% White, 0.29% African American and 0.43% Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.72% of the population.
There were 261 households out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% were married couples living together, 11.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% were non-families. 19.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
