Valley Springs is a city in Minnehaha County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 759 at the 2010 census.
Valley Springs was founded on November 13, 1872, and incorporated on February 22, 1879. The city was named from nearby springs in the valley of Beaver Creek.
Valley Springs lies near the South Dakota—Minnesota state line. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.82 square miles (2.12 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 759 people, 306 households, and 202 families residing in the city. The population density was 925.6 inhabitants per square mile (357.4/km2). There were 327 housing units at an average density of 398.8 per square mile (154.0/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 95.9% White, 0.5% African American, 0.7% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.8% from other races, and 2.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
