Mitchellville is an upperclass majority African-American unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 10,967 at the 2010 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.0 square miles (13 km2), all land.
As of the United States Census of 2000, there were 9,611 people, 3,148 households, and 2,556 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,930.4 people per square mile (745.1/km2). There were 3,243 housing units at an average density of 651.4/sq mi (251.4/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 13.29% White, 78.50% Black, 0.26% Native American, 3.93% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.80% from other races, and 3.15% from two or more races. 2.09% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 3,148 households, out of which 41.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.8% were married couples living together, 15.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.8% were non-families. 15.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 1.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.02 and the average family size was 3.34.
In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 27.5% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 30.1% from 45 to 64, and 6.3% who were 65 years of age or older.
